The integer sign rules
Integers are whole numbers that can be positive, negative or zero.
How do I add and subtract integers?
Same signs: add the values and keep the sign. Different signs: subtract the smaller value from the larger and take the sign of the larger. To subtract, add the opposite.
What are the sign rules for multiplying and dividing?
Same signs give a positive answer; different signs give a negative answer. This is true for both multiplication and division.
